Stressed Hospitality Worker Finds Career Satisfaction in the Residential Construction Industry

After 17 years in the hospitality industry, Ellie Rivera sought work in a new industry. In hospitality, staffing shortages and a demanding work schedule led to immense stress and loss of sleep.

Ellie decided to find a job and work schedule that was suitable for the needs of her family and herself. She went to a few interviews, but nothing panned out. After a few interviews but no offers, Ellie reached out to a BTF Engagement Manager for help.

Ellie sent her resume to the Engagement Manager. Later that day, she received a call from American Builders Supply in Winter Haven, Fla., to set up an interview. Within a week, she received the call she had anticipated.

“I’m honored to have accepted the role of the Invoicing Coordinator,” said Ellie. “I’m happy to be in a relaxed work atmosphere where I can dress down at work and feel comfortable. I work set hours, my stress is gone, and I feel productive. I leave work every day no later than 5 o’clock, and I am enjoying spending time with my family on my weekends off.”

“I’m beyond happy and grateful for Building Talent Foundation’s assistance in landing this opportunity,” Ellie continued. “They went above and beyond to get me where I need to be, which inspires me to be a helping hand for others.”
